This put me so much in mind of the Jetsons... I particularly like the foliage upper left - I wouldn't mind a session on brush strokes. Some Turner, Homer, Sargent you can see from a brushstroke or two what sort of trees they are, how the sea is raging, the texture of a rock.
Yes, I agree it's almost miraculous how they managed it. Still, they interpreted what they saw in their style and transmitted their confidence so that we believed it! We can certainly revisit foliage again soon (my nemesis btw) since it is all about light and shadow.
