Next Thursday please remember to bring in some kitchen ware (utensil/dish/appliance) to serve as a still life model. I've been having a root around too and tried to place the items in a suitable form before having a go with oils.
We talked quite a lot about shadows anchoring our objects to the background. Although not easy to set up in the life drawing room, it is interesting to see how the shapes emerge from a dark background with a Caravaggio inspired "chiaroscuro" lighting set up.
Please research the meaning of "local colour" in painting and think about it in terms of "colour constancy". I hope it will help to understand some more about using colour in painting.
What beautiful kitchen utensils you have Seb! I like the painting too. Sal
